The lives of 37 candidates of waitua primary school in Kandara have been wasted after their KCPE results were cancelled following examination cheating.
Only eight candidates will get their results after Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) cancelled after a proof of collusion. The schools had registered 45 candidates for KCPE.
Murang’a director of education Mr Lawrence Kirimi confirmed cancellation of the examination for the 37 candidates, saying they have details from KNEC indicating that the results for the 37 candidates had been cancelled following discovery there was collusion. We must work hard towards fighting examination cheating,” said Kirimi.
Releasing the results education cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i said only 12 counties were affected by examination irregularities.
