Harambee Stars stormed into the finals of the ongoing Cecafa competition after edging out a stubborn Burundi side in a semi-final match at the Moi Stadium Kisumu.
Whyvonne Isuza’s scored the all-important extra-time goal to send the hosts to the final of the tournament. Harambee Stars await the winner between champions Uganda and Zanzibar.
Stars started the game slowly but picked pace in the second half. They however needed extra time to notch in the all-important goal in the 97th minute of the game courtesy of the AFC Leopards’ midfielder. Isuza curled in a left-foot shot into Burundi’s top corner.
Harambee Stars have struggled to stamp their authority on this year’s torunament scrapping through in the group stages to reach the final.
Meanwhile, Zanzibar Heroes and Uganda Cranes were to take on the pitch to book their ticket against Kenya at the same venue.
