Intelligence doing background checks on Parliament staff

Intelligence officers have narrowed down on Parliamentary staff after linking a Senate staff Ali Abdulmajid with Al Shabaab, The GW has established.GW has learnt that intelligence officers were doing background checks for all Parliament staff over terror alert that Al Shabaab has targeted Parliament. Intelligence officers has narrowed down on Parliamentary staff after linking a Senate staff Ali Abdulmajid with Al Shabaab, The GW has established.GW has learnt that intelligence officers were doing background checks for all Parliament staff over terror alert that Al Shabaab has targeted Parliament. In previous announcement, Al Shabaab have boasted that they have moles in the Kenya National Assembly along Parliament road.

GW is aware that Interior Ministry is determined to end the threats on Parliament, Churches,Kenyans in general and have narrowed down on Al Shabaab associates and sympathisers.Mr Ali Abdulmajid, the vice-chairperson of the management committee of the Pumwani Riyadh mosque that has in the past been accused of financing terror activities. He has been the vice- chairman of the mosque since 2009. He was arrested on Sunday Ealier Intelligence reports indicated that ,Al Shabaab have infiltrated government institutions and plan to attack the Parliament, five churches, University of Nairobi in their latest intended wave of terror.

In the latest intelligence from the police, Al Shabaab is said to have dispatched Amniyat spies to carry out devastating attacks on specific targets around ten country.According to the Central 

OCPD Paul Wanjama the targets include Parliament, Muthurwa market, the Nairobi Pentecostal Church, Holy Family Basilica, St Andrews (PCEA) and University of Nairobi. Wanjama has instructed the OCS Parliament Police station Chief Inspector Samson Chelugo to enhance security vigilance in the targeted areas by especially pre-empting through collecting intelligence. "In Nairobi, key targets include Parliament by planting a bomb within Parliament Buildings.The group intends to us an operative who is affiliated to Pumwani Riyadh Mosque who is also a staff member of at the Senate to actual the attack," Wanjama's letter dated April 23rd 2015. Police have meanwhile enhanced security at all targets through checks especially in Parliament, places of worship and the school's being targeted.
