 KNUT asks Treasury to release their pay before midnight of 31

The Kenya National Union of Teachers has asked parliament to instruct Treasury to release money before midnight of August 31............

The Kenya National Union of Teachers has asked parliament to instruct Treasury to release money before midnight of August 31. The Supreme court issued a stay on the previous ruling of the Court of Appeal on the Teachers 50-60% pay increase which was in favour of the Kenyan teachers.


They have also asked Sarah Serem the chair of the Salary Commission to keep off or else they will sue her for contempt of Court. The TSC has the task of ensuring that they raise enough money in a week's time to pay the teachers.They have however asked KNUT to let schools open next week  as negotiations continue on how to the teachers employer will meet the direction of the court
