Motorists have been warned to expect unprecedented traffic snarl ups in Nairobi during the weekend's visit to the country by the President of the United States of America Barack Obama.The Nairobi county Commander Benson Kibue has released a schedule of roads that will be closed to the public during POTUS's three day visit in Nairobi............

Motorists have been warned to expect unprecedented traffic snarl ups in Nairobi during the weekend's visit to the country by the President of the United States of America Barack Obama.The Nairobi county Commander Benson Kibue has released a schedule of roads that will be closed to the public during POTUS's three day visit in Nairobi.

While some roads will be closed on Friday, others will be closed on Saturday.The announcement indicates that  Mombasa road, Uhuru highway and Waiyaki way. will be closed on Friday as from 2 pm  approximately seven hours before President Obama's Air Force One Boeing touches down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport(JKIA).Thika road, Limuru road and Waiyaki Way will be closed to the public on Saturday when President Obama is expected to address congregations at Safaricom Stadium, Kasarani and at the Kenyatta University.

It is estimated that about 10, 000 police officers sone drawn from as far away as Mandera, Busia, Turkana, Embu, Meru have been temporarily redeployed to Nairobi to beef up security during President Obama’s stay.While the Kenyan cops will provide the outer cordon during the first ever seating POTUS visit to Kenya, United States security led by the Secret Service will provide the inner cordon during the three days visit.All the events will be attended by only invited guests.
