The DPP has approved the prosecution of Lamu West MP Julius Ndegwa

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has approved the prosecution of Lamu West MP Julius Ndegwa for irregular withdrawal of Sh1.6m from CDF account.

Tobiko yesterday morning approved the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission's (EACC) recommendation to charge Ndegwa for his involvement in the irregular withdrawal of the money from the Constituency Development Fund without following laid down procedures.
Ndegwa was on the list of 175 individuals included in the people under investigations by the EACC released to parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The legislator is likely to be arraigned in the anti corruption court this week.
This comes in the wake of summons to appear jn court issued against suspended Transport and Infrastructure cabinet secretary Michael Kamau.
EACC has informed the court that the have looked in vain for the CS and have not located him.
